Black magic gets a whole new meaning thanks to this enchantingly beautiful and original Black 1952 Jaguar XK120 Roadster 3.4, also known as 'Open Two Seater' - shortly 'OTS'. Rarely we encountered a Jaguar with as much soul and appeal as this one. This Original and unrestored early Jaguar XK120 remains in truly stunning condition.
The current owner, on behalf whom we may offer the Jaguar, has maintained, cherished and preserved the car with all the attention and care of the world. Without affecting the original character. Like a beautiful wine, which has developed its very own unmatched taste over the years. The originality is almost literally dripping of the timeless, extremely elegant styled coachwork. This is the kind of XK you can’t keep your eyes off!
This car is largely first paint and although parts have been resprayed in the past (pre 1975) paint thickness is typically around 150mn and never exceeds 280mn, proving that the car has never seen corrosion or filler. Panel gaps and fitting is truly excellent especially by the standards of the day.
The interior is also completely original and has a magnificent patina. Only the floor on the driver's side of the car has been updated. The gorgeous Biscuit & Tan upholstery is not only a pleasure to look at, but also very rare in combination with the Black exterior.
The seats are still in good shape, but have become a bit fragile by wear anyhow. Therefore, we offer an additional set that can be used for long(er) trips.
The many original details that most of the restored classics have to miss, make this special Roadster even more special. Details like leather covers on the leaf springs. The magical 3.4 litre 6-cylinder-in-line engine with 190 hp feels, sounds and even smells just as intense as during the early years. Despite or because the technology of this low-mileage XK has remained intact in all those years, engine and transmission operate in fabulous harmony; absolutely unprecedented for this type of Jaguar. While driving, the car feels extremely solid, with a fantastic, direct steering behaviour. The original drum brakes fulfil their task just as smoothly, while the sound coming from the mild steel exhaust is magnificent in all ways, and contributes to the goosebumps you get behind the big steering wheel like no other.
A great car for the serious collector.
